Mandy Williams

Model's very own world-class educator Mandy Williams has been selected as the award-winner for the EKU Colonels Athletics Department College Football Playoff's Extra Yard for Teachers Campaign!

Mandy will be recognized at the EKU home opener football game this Saturday, September 17 at 6:00 p.m. and presented with $1,000 for classroom funds.

Mandy is known by families and colleagues alike for her reputation of excellence; she is enthusiastic in the classroom, as a teacher mentor, and in finding solutions for bettering the school community as a whole.

Mandy is a proud alumna of both Model Lab School and Eastern Kentucky University. In fact, she set out to become a teacher because of the incredible impact educators had on her own life, including the dedication and passion of both Coach Tim Cahill and her second grade teacher Mrs. Brenda Lichty. In Mandy's own words, “The joy of teaching is the hope of paying it forward to next generation leaders.”

Model families can come celebrate Mandy's recognition and cheer on the EKU Colonels this Saturday, September 17 at the Roy Kidd Stadium! Tn addition to the Extra Yard for Teachers initiative, EKU will host the Education and Youth Sports Night, where parents and educators are invited to redeem two free tickets!

Inflatables and family fun will also be available inside the stadium during the game and outside the stadium in the Colonel Courtyard pre-game. #GoBigE!
