In learning about the character trait of the month, empathy, 4th and 5th-grade Character Education classes learned an unforgettable lesson about the impact of their words through an engaging and hands-on activity. Using paper hearts, toothpaste, and toothpicks, students explored how words can leave lasting impressions—both good and bad. Thank you, Mrs. Marcum, for teaching Model students that when we take every opportunity to show kindness to others, we grow our empathy, strengthen friendships, and understand an important truth: our words matter. ❤️
🎉 Congratulations to Dr. Melanie Smith, who was named the Society of Health and Physical Education (SHAPE) America’s 2025 Health Educator of the Year for the Southern District! Smith also received the KySHAPE Health Teacher of the Year & Model Lab's district Rockstar Award in 2024. We are so proud to have Dr. Smith as a part of Model!
🎉 Our hallways came alive yesterday with one of our most cherished traditions: the Kindergarten Holiday Traditions Float Parade! 🛷✨ Our youngest learners proudly showcased their creative floats, each one reflecting unique family holiday traditions and celebrations, and then families joined us for a donut breakfast to continue the festive fun. 🍩
🎶 Winter Concert Series Recap 🎶 Last week, the talents of Model's Orchestra and Band filled the air with the sounds of the season! 🎻🎺 Students showcased their hard work and dedication in two festive performances, bringing the spirit of winter and the holidays to life through music.
