Our students showcased their academic talents through projects and presentations so our KDE guests could understand what a world-class education means. They had the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the innovative approaches we're implementing to support student success and achieve academic excellence. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to share our vision for education with Commissioner Kinney and KDE and to highlight the incredible work happening within our school community. 🎨🛍️✨ What a spectacular day of creativity and entrepreneurship yesterday!
💼💰 Our 2nd graders turned into young entrepreneurs in the past few weeks as they discovered business planning and production. From brainstorming ideas to crafting their goods or services, they invested in their projects every step of the way all to culminate into the "Model Market"! The classrooms transformed into a bustling marketplace, with each 2nd grader proudly showcasing their products at their very own storefronts. It was a joy to see their excitement as they interacted with customers, honed their sales skills, and experienced the rewards of their hard work. Bravo, young business moguls! 🎨🖌️ Meanwhile, in our early childhood program, budding Picassos and Van Goghs dazzled us all with their artistic talents at the art show! Each and every student had multiple masterpieces on display, transforming Burrier's halls into a vibrant gallery of colors and creativity. We loved seeing all of the smiling families as they strolled through the exhibits, marveling at the imagination and skill of our youngest artists. Through hands-on experiences and artistic exploration, our world-class education fosters creativity and innovation in every child of all ages 🖍🎓✏️

Model families and students will be the hosts of the many different exhibits to showcase their culture to other Model students. Students will visit the event throughout the day in the gym to learn about the diverse cultures and traditions represented here at Model Lab. Model student Sanjay Blevins acted as a Senate Page for Senator Jared Carpenter last week in honor and support of World Down Syndrome Day. Sanjay spent the day at the state capital in Frankfort to experience the legislative process first-hand. Sanjay witnessed the Senate unanimously approving Senate Resolution 213, which recognized World Down Syndrome Day on March 21, 2024. We are so proud of Sanjay and his advocacy! 🌟
The Book Fair opens for previewing this Friday, March 22! 📚🥰 Starting Monday, March 25, through Thursday, March 28, the Book Fair will be open for purchasing for grades K-6. Your Elementary child will have the opportunity to preview and create a wish list on Friday before visiting the Book Fair to purchase next week.
