✨ 𝗔 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 ✨ The Model Library transformed into West Egg before Spring Break, as eleventh-grade students donned bowties and pearls for their annual 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗯𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆, celebrating their completion of The Great Gatsby. The event not only marked the end of their study of the classic American novel but also deepened their understanding of its historical and social context. At the celebration, students partied like it was 1925 by showing off their best Charleston and catering their own early 20th-century meal, fully immersing themselves in the world of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Jazz Age.

📚✨ Model third graders recently had two incredible opportunities to connect with authors and deepen their understanding of storytelling! One day, students video chatted with the acclaimed author of 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘯-𝘋𝘪𝘹𝘪𝘦, Kate DiCamillo, learning about her journey as a writer and what inspired her to begin writing. On another day, Model Class of 2014 graduate Hannah Durbin visited to share her experience as an author. She spoke about what inspired her to write, explained her writing process, and read her book, 𝘔𝘢𝘦𝘷𝘦’𝘴 𝘔𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘺 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯.

From the Fourth-grade rendition of Beethoven’s ‘Ode to Joy’ to the beautiful harmonies of Vivaldi from the High School Orchestra, the evening was filled with variety and excellence. The Seventh and Eighth-grade Orchestra's Sea Chantey and the Fifth-grade Irish folk tunes highlighted the students' growth and diverse musical skills. We were also treated to a performance from Camerata Model with Mr. Spaceman bringing a fun, modern twist. It was a memorable evening celebrating the hard work and passion of our student musicians!

🐱🎩 𝗢𝗵, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 — what a marvelous treat!
Our students at Model Elementary just couldn't be beat.
In honor of 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 — a week full of cheer,
We celebrated reading far and near!
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 began with a plan,
To spark a love of reading all across the land.
Inspired by Dr. Seuss and his whimsical way,
We filled our week with stories each day! 📖📅
📚 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 — Reading outside under skies so blue,
Imaginations soaring as great books do.
📖 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 — Favorite books came from home to share,
Bringing joy and adventure everywhere!
🧸 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 — Stuffies arrived for a sleepover night,
Cuddled with books ‘til morning light.
🎨 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 — Bookmarks were made, colorful and bright,
A perfect reminder to read every night.
🌱 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 — We planted a garden to help stories grow,
A love for reading — the greatest seed we sow.
Dr. Seuss once said, "𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸.
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘰!"
And after a week full of stories and fun,
We know our love of reading has only begun! 💙📖
