We were thrilled to see so many Model families at last night’s 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲! Our young scholars impressed everyone with their creativity, curiosity, and hard work—from science experiments and author studies to balloon-powered cars and a living Kentucky Wax Museum. A very special highlight of the evening was welcoming Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Pamela Goodwine and University of Kentucky gymnast Isabella Magnelli, who attended as honored guests for the Wax Museum exhibit. Their presence added an exciting, real-world connection to our students’ learning, and we are so grateful they could join us. We are so glad EKU College of Education & Applied Human Sciences could join us this year, as well. We are always proud to partner with EKU for P-12 and higher education. The showcase was a true reflection of the dedication and excellence that define Model Laboratory Schools’ world-class education.

✨ 𝗔 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 ✨ The Model Library transformed into West Egg before Spring Break, as eleventh-grade students donned bowties and pearls for their annual 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗯𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆, celebrating their completion of The Great Gatsby. The event not only marked the end of their study of the classic American novel but also deepened their understanding of its historical and social context. At the celebration, students partied like it was 1925 by showing off their best Charleston and catering their own early 20th-century meal, fully immersing themselves in the world of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Jazz Age.

📚✨ Model third graders recently had two incredible opportunities to connect with authors and deepen their understanding of storytelling! One day, students video chatted with the acclaimed author of 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘯-𝘋𝘪𝘹𝘪𝘦, Kate DiCamillo, learning about her journey as a writer and what inspired her to begin writing. On another day, Model Class of 2014 graduate Hannah Durbin visited to share her experience as an author. She spoke about what inspired her to write, explained her writing process, and read her book, 𝘔𝘢𝘦𝘷𝘦’𝘴 𝘔𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘺 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯.
