🍁🦃 As we left for Thanksgiving Break yesterday, the Elementary hallway at Model was left brimming with creativity and gratitude! Our students brought the season to life with uniquely decorated turkeys, heartfelt original poems and essays about thankfulness, and the K-6 Tree of Gratitude—each leaf representing what our young learners cherish most. 🌳❤️ | These projects are a wonderful reminder of the joy in pausing to reflect on the blessings around us. We are so thankful for our amazing students, dedicated staff, and supportive families who make the Model community so special. | Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and gratitude! 🥧🍂 See you back on Monday, December 2!

This morning, our Kindergarteners shared what they’re most grateful for during the beloved Thanksgiving Gratefulness Parade! They created festive “floats” and posters highlighting their families, friends, teachers, favorite hobbies, and more. 🦃❤️

📜🖋 Inspired by the timeless tales of Edgar Allan Poe, our 7th-grade poets of Mrs. Hardin's and Dr. McCardle's classes captivated us with their haunting verses last week at the POEtry Slam!

🎨🎬 Last week, our Visual Arts and Media Arts students dove into creativity during EKU's Open Studio Day. From crafting unique art pieces to exploring the inspiring Giles Gallery and stepping behind the scenes in the TV studio, they experienced hands-on learning like never before. Being part of the EKU family opens incredible doors for our students to explore their passions and sharpen their skills. Thank you, EKU, for giving our future artists and creators a day to dream big and create boldly! 🤩

✒️📖🐦‍⬛ Once upon a seventh-grade class, while they pondered, how to pass, Over many a volume of Edgar Allan Poe's well-known lore— While they nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As if someone gently rapping, rapping at McCardle's door. "I know how you'll pass," Mrs. Hardin uttered walking through the classroom door— "With this 'Poe'try Slam and nothing more." Everyone in the community is welcome to join us TONIGHT, 5:00-7:30 p.m., as our seventh-graders present original poetry and art!

This recognition highlights her exceptional dedication to her students & commitment to mentoring future educators. 🇺🇸🗳️ Check out what our Early Childhood Development Center students were up to this week! In honor of Election week, the ECDC students voted for their favorite gross motor area between the Playground and the Gross Motor Room. Model Lab promotes hands-on, real-world experiences, no matter the grade level, to design our world-class education. 🌟

The Upper West parking lot in Alumni Coliseum will be closed on Friday, November 8, due to EKU Family Weekend. Students and employees must park in the lower lot by the baseball field and Kentucky State Police post. Parking services informed us any vehicle parked in the Upper West lot of Alumni Coliseum on Friday will be towed.
